Car possibly torched, this time in Brighton
By adamg on Thu, 09/29/2011 - 3:07pm
Arson investigators are looking into a suspicious car fire shortly after 1 a.m. today on Glenley Terrace.
Ward Hegedus, who took this post-fire photo of her car, reports both BFD and BPD responded quickly.
BFD spokesman Steve MacDonald says "no determination has been made as to cause," it is still under investigation.
The Pratt/Ashford area of Allston has been plagued by car fires over the past month.

Arson hits the Countryside of Brighton
Another car fire on in another dead/end hard-to-get in and out of location (and in a virtually rural section of Brighton this time!) - if this is the same person who is doing the stuff down in Allston, it is someone who: (a) is doing this because s/he wants to be caught; or (b) is doing this in an effort to cover a planned and targeted arson/other crime (more likely - this is what the sniper in Long Island, NY did in the mid-90s. That wacko shot people indiscrimately for weeks to cover a planned murder at the end).
In any case, I hope the cops get this nut soon, and before someone is hurt or killed.
Probably not same perp
I'd be surprised if this were the same arsonist - every detail of this fire is different from an extremely consistent pattern in the fires in the GAP neighborhood:
* Weekend mornings between 7 and 9 AM
* Cars parked in driveways or in parking spaces behind houses
* Fire set under the hood
Actually, neither of the two
Actually, neither of the two that were set in my driveway last weekend were set under the hood. Both were set on the seats. However, on the other counts, as far as I know you're right. (I think maybe I'll start getting up early on the weekends now...)
You're right
You're right - don't know what I was thinking of on that point. Hovever, there's been an extremely consistent pattern in the days of the week, the time of day, and the locations of the cars that have been torched on Pratt, Ashford, and Wadsworth.
