Gunfire in front of Boston Police headquarters

Boston Police are investigating gunfire in front of their Tremont Street headquarters around 9:15 p.m.

The apparent targets were two men on bicycles across Tremont from the headquarters; the shots came from Tremont and Whittier, between BPD HQ and Northeastern's International Village building. Police have two suspects in custody after foot chases just across Melnea Cass Boulevard, on the other side of Tremont.

There is a good amount of crime in that area on the regular. One of the last shootings at Ashmont, there were cops right at the station. Lots of shots let off in Mattapan when a cruiser is right up the street.
