Police: Lynn teen on a stolen bike used loaded gun to threaten people in Uphams Corner

Boston Police report arresting a 15-year-old from Lynn they say threatened at least two people with a loaded gun on Dudley Street before pedaling away on a bike he'd stolen not long before.

According to police:

While on patrol, officers were approached by a concerned citizen who reported a teenaged male on a bike had threatened two females by displaying and racking a round in a firearm. The male then fled on the bike on Dudley Street toward Uphams Corner. Officers soon located the male who continued to flee on the bicycle, leading the officers on a lengthy pursuit, clutching his right waistband as though he were securing a firearm. Officers were finally able to apprehend the male while attempting to scale a fence. Officers recovered a loaded silver Raven .25 caliber firearm with clear plastic tape around the handle from the suspect’s right pants pocket. As officers recovered the suspect’s bicycle they were approached by a victim who reported the bike had been stolen from the victim about a half an hour earlier.

The teen, not named because of his age, was charged with illegal possession of a firearm, illegal possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm, receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. He also had three outstanding warrants, police say.

And it's sad because these kids sound like their once pure souls are suddenly in some long lost circle of Hell. They need guidance and discipline. Opportunities too as oppose to Mayor Walsh kissing up to these "international" students with oil/daddy's money.

It should start with the parents. Love and discipline don't cost a thing. Stop blaming others. Get your own house in order. My next door neighbors came penniless from Haiti. Their father drove a bus for a living. Their mother cleaned houses. But BOTH of their sons graduate d with honors, played sports, and are now getting ready for premed. They will be successful because they wanted abetter life from the heart. And trust me, they, too, had to navigate their way away from gangs in school and neighborhood.

Hey Amen to that! Coming from a horrible "downbringing", I'm very aware of that. But should it be left off as a vicious cycle where:Parents are terrible, kid picks up on this and considers this the norm, and then resorts to crime/addiction? Opportunities are a Godsend.
