Where is the story about the young girl shot in the Southend in Shawmut.ave/ Lenox.st development on Sunday 10/11/16? Is this another attempt to sweep stories under the rug, in attempt to blind investors interested in buying property in this area!?!! WHERES THE STORY!?!?

Adam is one guy. ONE...GUY...

Not a newsroom. No huge presses and a cigar chomping editors in smoke filled rooms. No bespectacled young cub reporters blanketing the city. No van with funky attenna shit on the top. No blowsy anchors grinning and joking with the sportscaster. No weather fella making bad puns while standing in front of a green screen.

You just registered a brand new sparkling account - If you know about an important story that's not getting told - tell it! Make it short and sweet and accurate, heavy on facts and low on personal opinion. And people here will read it and know about it and talk about it and you will have helped get the word out!

I admit it: I miss stuff. I don't listen to the scanner 24 hours and nobody at BPD calls me up and tells me about shootings I've missed.

There are some other folks who do post about this stuff on Twitter - such as Stacos (although he seems to lapse in and out of Boston these days) and more recently, Monica Cannon.

But dude (meaning the new dude, not you), sweep things under the rug to help real-estate investors? Hah! Let's talk the next time somebody complains about my writing too much about shootings and stabbings.

Was only speaking on things I know about the important facts surrounding this area that taking place. FACTS.

If you were Adam. I would give you a long explanation. But, ya know maybe you can't comprehend!!! Where's the story? By the way, brand new account is correct. Had to switch things up just to get accepted. Also, Boston is my city, I was born here, you just work or maybe even live here.

I originally posted something in this space that was basically an angry rant, but, you know what, whatever, dude. If you're that unhappy with what you find here, you probably want to find another Boston site that will make you happier.

I'm confused. Because it was never about what you post on here. My point is that I didn't hear or read the story on any site. I just felt that a young girl getting shot would get some attention. You added on to what big mouth above you had to say and you took it to the grave. Don't.

It's getting extremely dangerous ..

No, not "getting". There's always been violence in the city (as in every city).

But as has been pointed out many many times by commentors here, the rate of violent crime has been trending down in Boston - for years and years now. It's just the coverage of crime in the media that has gotten more intensive.

Ignorance is conflated into imaginary monster paranoia.

This is a somewhat shady convenience store next to the projects and as the poster above me has noted, we live in a city. This happens.

Crime is down across the city and relatively stable in small pockets (after years of decline).

As usual, UHub article states person shot/stabbed in South Boston but leaves out the part that it happened in the projects. Nice job leaving out some facts. I guess you get to pick and choose to publish and omit certain info, just like the way you will choose not to post this comment.

I'm not sure you can handle the truth, but here goes: I don't know absolutely everything about everything in Boston.

I have no problems identifying when a shooting happens in a particular project. If something happens at Bromley-Heath (OK, Mildred Hailey) or Archdale, I'll identify the project, because I'm reasonably familiar with them and what their boundaries are. But if a shooting happens on Annunciation Road or in the South End, I tend to use "Annunciation Road" or whatever South End street is involved because I'm never sure which project is which. Franklin Field's another one that I'm not really sure about.

And the same goes for South Boston. Yeah, I don't know the neighborhood as well as somebody who's lived there for 20 years. In any case, you know, so you get to feel all smug and secure and racist because obviously projects in your neighborhood aren't really in your neighborhood and life would just be so much better for you if you could make them disappear because nobody in South Boston ever commits a crime or ODs or nothing otherwise.

Not at all. Actually. It is my neighborhood. Just as bad as alot of others. My point isn't to make you feel stupid. It's the fact that this part of the city continues to hide concerning issues from the public in fear that the rich/wealthy inconsiderate greed's will no longer be interested in pushing lower class long lived resident out of they're neighbor hood. That's all.

Yup, happened in Southie.

Aside from that.

What does it matter to you? Do you feel it tarnishes the pristine reputation of South Boston?

Southie's reputation will only get better when the Whacko Curley types and the South Boston Today crowd are all dead or move on to the Irish Riviera.

Good riddance.

I'm guilty of accidentally thumbs-upping bird's post when I meant to hit reply. My bad.

I once lived a couple doors down from where this happened on the same side of the street as 165 D Street. This is a convenience store that sits across the street from the projects--not within them, so I'm not sure what fact was left out.

This crime could have been committed by someone living in the projects, but that wasn't reported originally and really it doesn't change that it happened nor where it happened. Who cares if it happened there or at Orton-Marotta? Besides, wasn't this story pusblished based on a tweet? How many details did Adam have to work with there in a 140 characters?

Also: Why are commenters getting all touchy about posting or not posting details in this story? Probably just a coincidence.

ANY story about Southie makes people touchy these days. If Adam posted a picture of the sun setting over Castle Island, it would be the nastiest comment section you've ever seen.

#FirstWorldProblems ...that Starbucks open yet at L & Broadway?

I was referring more to the very first comment from someone complaining about not posting a story from two months ago based on suspicions that it was purposefully excluded from coverage for real estate/property value purposes in the South End.

It seemed odd to me that someone else was then hellbent on calling out the website for the gross mischaracterization that this happened adjacent to low-income housing (the street address & neighborhood of where it happened wasn't specific enough).

What Adam posted was the same info that the Boston Globe posted.
Yes it happened near the projects, Does it make a difference?? This is someone's life, you are commenting about.
Also this happened a less then a block away from an elementary school/community center.
