Sub shop held up at gunpoint on Tremont Street in Roxbury

Subway, 961 Tremont St., held up around 10 a.m. by two men, one with a gun. Both suspects were described as black, one about 6' and in his 20s or 30s and wearing a black coat with a gray hoodie, the other about 5'8" and wearing a cream coat and 45 to 50.

These people must be pretty desperate. I wouldn't expect a Subway to have tons of cash on hand. (Although I know pizza delivery people get mugged too, and they have even less on hand.)

I can't imagine they had much on hand in the morning. Between slower sales in the AM, and generally just having 100-200 dollar tills that were counted. Not much cash.

Plus most stores do deposits at night after they close. (and if they don't, most have timed safe's that cannot be opened except by a manager)
