Police say man breaks into Charlestown apartment, sexually attacks sleeping woman

Boston Police report a man who'd broken into an Old Ironsides Way apartment around 4 a.m. today began to "indecently assault" a woman, who woke up and began screaming, which brought her apartment mates who scared him away.

Police say the man, described as black, 25 to 30 and 5'5" to 5'8" in height, wore gray sweatpants with a dark-gray rear pocket.

Despicable

People who commit crimes like this truly deserve to be castrated.

Agreed

What do we do with sexually aggressive cattle? Neuter them.
What do we do with sexually aggressive dogs? Neuter them.
What do we do with sexually aggressive cats? Neuter them.
What do we do with sexually aggressive humans? Give them probation.

No, actually, we don't

No, actually, we don't. We neuter pets and livestock for various reasons, but "because they were sexually aggressive" is virtually never it.

Questionable Value

Particularly if an offender is set free in the bargain. Rape is not about sexuality. it is about power, control, and humiliation.

Such sentences may also result in fewer convictions if castration becomes normalized. Juries do consider these things, even if they are instructed not to.

Neuter them

This is one of the weirdest, wrongest uhub comments ever.

Do we agree

That breaking into a person's home and sexually assaulting them is unacceptable?

If we do, the following actions can be taken against the perpetrator. I won't list what the victim can do to protect themselves, because I'm not having an (expletive) conversation where I belittle a sexual assault victim. Also note that I remain retired from talking about death on UH, so that will be excluded from the list:

-Lock them in a cage

-Make the necessary biological changes to reduce a chemically dangerous level of testosterone which provoked this attack

The former costs you and me money, is not a deterrent, and does nothing to rehabilitate the offender.

The latter is a one-time procedure which allows the offender to remain a productive, and hopefully more docile, member of society.

Really?

Got any science to back up the assertion that this would actually change the behavior?
