Police: Guy fires gun out car window - while a cop is right behind him

Boston Police report a C-11 officer was heading back to his district on American Legion Highway late last night when a guy in the SUV in front of him got off at least a couple rounds from his ACC International Intrac 9mm firearm.

Police report the officer followed the SUV from its initial firing position at Canterbury Street, across from the BPD VFW post, to 11 Floyd St. in Dochester - radioing for backup as he drove.

Once stopped, the front seat passenger fled on foot, while the operator and a second passenger remained in the vehicle. Officers gave chase and apprehended the fleeing suspect a short distance away. Officers with the vehicle ordered the two remaining occupants from the car and did a protective sweep of the passenger compartment, locating a black ACC International Intrac 9mm firearm in the center console.

Wellington Gonzalez, 26, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, unlawfully carrying a loaded firearm and discharging a firewarm within 500 feet of a dwelling, police say.

The driver and the other passenger were not charged.

Innocent, etc.
