Five arrested, drugs and gun seized in Mattapan raid

Boston Police report drug-unit officers investigating possible drug sales in the area of the apartment building at 876 Cummins Highway, at the corner of Rexford Street, raided an apartment there yesterday evening and arrested five Mattapan residents and seized crack cocaine and other drugs and a loaded gun.

Juanquis Demont Hicks, 27, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute, police say. He was also charged with being a second-time offender, which could mean longer sentences if he's convicted.

Zulma Rosa, 50, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of Class B drugs and possession of Class E drugs with intent to distribute, police say. Christopher Rivera, 44, was charged with the same gun and ammo charges and possession of Class B drugs.

Kaamal Stewart, 33, was charged with possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute. A fifth person, 58, will be summoned to Dorchester court for possession of Class B drugs, police say.
