It makes me wonder ? If this is a hot spot for shootings for the last 20-30+ years. Why don't police post up there or show a presents ? I truly believe the police, mayor and who ever else do not care at all. RIP another citizen gone from lack of service & protection.

The cops were literally around the corner. There was a cop on Centre Street who heard the gunshots and ran to the scene.

Police can only do so much to protect their citizens, perhaps we should place the blame on those causing the violence?

...take it a step further and figure out what is causing people to become so violent.

Find some money to pay for more police. There aren't more police assigned to each area because there's no money to pay them. We all expect perfection from the police department but there aren't enough police for perfection and nothing is perfect anyways.

My name Is No Name Nobody I'm a black man who lives in inner city boston, I've seen death all around since my first little buddy got mudered in 1991 in Dorchester he was 15 I was 14 I miss him till this day. And after him over the years I watched at least 60-70+ more friends die in the streets of boston. Most of them never had a drink, a driver's license, or been to a night club, in fact they never left boston. By now I'm traumatized but I just keep on moving like everything is fine. Sometimes I wonder how life would be if my friends never died. They say the good die young, but How I wish they were here !

I applaud your courage Adam in letting this comment make the board. To you No Name Nobody, Thank you and I’m late 80s with this same issue. My best friend was killed on Washington st after school. He didn’t even stay the whole day because he wanted to avoid the problems. His mom moved here from California and she was shelter to shelter. He played basketball in east Boston for Philips Flying Eagles and BNBL we would hide on basketball courts trying to keep him occupied and his mind off of his struggles. It still caught up to him. Until this day his murder is unsolved and his mom is the most beautiful women on this planet she didn’t deserve that. Thank you

Let's acknowledge this during Wake Up the Earth Festival. Seems like it's time for all of us to wake up, too! RIP

My sincere condolences to the families. I think I might move.

The rest of the story.
Police and EMTs were surrounded and heckled by the inmates of Bromley last night while trying to help.
Call it Mildred Hailey Apts if you wish.
Do your homework people and you'll find thousands of dollars were stolen while it was under resident control over many years.
Mildred Hailey was president.
It's the projects and the inmates, the people are keeping it that way.

Of the Iceberg that was “TMC.”

Word is from the “inmates” that Bickerton was the prince of Plant Court for a “cup of coffee.” I’m sure he likes Mayor of Dot better anyways....

as for Bromley....old side will go private. LJVale didn’t write children’s books...

As for the afflicted Humans who hesitate to “drop the dime.” it’s about decisions, not conditions.

I just found another opportunity to spew my racism

Even though I live on the South Shore and I wasn't there!

WOOHOO - the imposed old white guy narrative is wayyyyy truer than what "those" people ever say!

God Bless Louise Day Hicks for trying to put those people in their place!

The young man just graduated COLLEGE last week. His name was Chris Joyce Incase anybody CARES. This post is lacking details. They don’t care about us minorities and that is a fact. He was supposed to walk across a stage THIS WEEK. Today is his MOTHERS birthday. Next Sunday is mother’s Day!!! Let’s think about the family before we post disgusting comments and call Residents INMATES. The fact that people have time to post ridiculous things instead of just sending their condolences is sad. The other man is a father and a family man who leaves behind a son. The picture is BIGGER than what people are looking at. #Stoptheaviolence

Who is THEY?

The police that were around the corner who heard gunfire and ran to the scene of a double homicide only to be surrounded by a hostile crowd?

Or the people on this blog who dismiss this as inner city violence and would rather comment on the Bruins and bike lanes?
