Man shot in the head on Centre Street in Dorchester; two arrested

Boston Police report a man was shot in the head at 397 Centre St. shortly before 4:25 p.m. but is expected to survive.
Police arrested Kevin Woods, 19, and a 17-year-old too young to be name on charges of armed assault with intent to murder, unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling and carjacking.
The victim made his way about a block and a half to 74 Whitten St. after the shooting, police say:
Officers responding to the scene within minutes of the initial call quickly learned that the suspects responsible for the shooting were seen fleeing the area while riding a white motor scooter. Officers promptly broadcast a description of the suspects over the police radio. Within minutes, officers learned that a white motor scooter ridden by two occupants had been involved in a minor motor vehicle accident in the area of Gibson and Sturtevant Streets. Officers also learned that the suspects were seen attempting to carjack a vehicle in the area. Responding officers quickly observed two individuals who matched the descriptions of the suspects running from the scene. After a lengthy foot pursuit, officers were able to chase down and apprehend both suspects.
Police say they also recovered two guns.
