Cops catch Hyde Park bank robber who didn't try running until they showed up

Boston Police report arresting a teenager they say robbed the Santander Bank branch at 860 River St. in Hyde Park around 12:50 p.m. yesterday.

Police say that when officers arrived "within seconds" of getting an alarm, a bank worker was able to point out the kid - too young to have his name released - nearby because instead of running out of the bank after getting money, he walked away. It was only when he noticed the cops that he began to run:

After a brief foot pursuit, officers were able to chase down and apprehend the suspect. According to bank employees, the suspect, who showed no weapons, walked up to one of the bank tellers and handed her a note demanding money.
