Guy posing as cop slashes man with knife in Dorchester home invasion, police say

Boston Police report arresting Taurean Pearson, 36, on armed-home invasion charges for an incident early this morning at 42 Lyon St. in Dorchester.

According to police, shortly before 2:30 a.m., Lyon forced his way into an apartment there after falsely identifying himself as a police officer:

After an adult male victim pushed the suspect out of his apartment entryway, the suspect produced a knife and slashed the victim on his wrist. Responding officers quickly located the suspect as he attempted to flee on foot in the area of 34 Lyon Street and placed him in custody without further incident after he was positively identified. Officers recovered the knife and seized it as evidence. The victim was evaluated by EMS on scene but refused further medical attention. The suspect will appear in Dorchester District Court on charges of Home Invasion, Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Malicious Destruction of Property.
