Two gun arrests in Dorchester lead to four more arrests, police say

Boston Police report that gang-unit members who arrested two men Wednesday afternoon as part of an investigation into the use of firearms in Dorchester decided to take a look inside the house they'd come out of - and arrested four more men on gun and drug charges.

Police say the officers stopped a car at Blue Hill Avenue and McLellan Street around 4 p.m., after watching its occupants leave a house about midway down Esmond Street. They arrested two occupants: Hassan Searcy, 20, from the South End, on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of a loaded firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition - due to a loaded Ruger 9-mm gun and eight rounds of ammunition they say they found - and Jaquori Lyons, 20, of Lynn, on an unrelated outstanding warrant.

The officers then applied for and got a search for the Esmond Street house - where police say they found "a loaded SCCY 9mm firearm, a .357 Luger revolver, body armor, ammunition, as well as multiple Xanax pills and drug paraphernalia," around 7:20 p.m.

Four men in the house at the time were arrested on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm and possession of Class C drugs with intent to distribute: Roy Martin, 25, of Dorchester, Stephen O’Neal, 24, of Mattapan, Kenneth Martin, 23, of Dorchester and a 17-year-old too young to have his name released.

Innocent, etc.
