Yakuba

Transit Police report arresting a man who objected to a Transit officer interjecting in an argument he was having in South Station by pushing the officer to the ground - where he maintained consciousness despite hitting his head on the ground and was able to radio for help.

Othman Yakuba, 33, was arrested on charges of assault and battery on a police officer and assault and battery on the woman he was arguing with, police say.

Police say the attacked officer responded to the area in front of the doors out to the tracks around 7:30 p.m. after a bystander found him to report Yakuba yelling at the woman.

Police say two bystanders rushed to the officer to render aid until other officers arrived.

We all need to respond when someone is in trouble or if we witness violence and crimes. ( Safely of course ) But it will take all of us to turn the tide so many feel nowadays.
