Police: Shoplifter escapes State Street convenience store by waving knife at clerks; gets arrested at another disturbance
Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man on charges he threatened clerks at the 7-Eleven at 177 State St., near the Greenway, with a knife early this morning.
Kyle Lincoln, 26, might have escaped into the night, except police investing a disturbance a couple hours later on Causeway Street found him in the middle of it.
According to police, Lincoln walked into the 7-Eleven around midnight and began taking food:
The victim stated he confronted the male who became aggressive and began pushing one of the staff members. The victim stated the suspect then pulled a knife out and began threatening the staff with the knife, before leaving the store with merchandise he did not pay for. Officers were provided with a description of the suspect and searched the area initially to no avail.
Police continue:
At approximately 2:00 AM, officers responded to the area of 85 Causeway Street for a male causing a disturbance. On arrival, officers observed the male who matched the previous description of the suspect from the earlier assault at 177 State Street. The suspect was identified and taken into custody. Officers retrieved a knife from the suspect’s pocket.
Lincoln was charged with assault with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery and shoplifting by concealing merchandise.
