Man shot in the neck in Dorchester

A man was shot in the neck on Emrose Terrace around 2:15 p.m., Gavin Schoch reports. The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of the victim's injuries.

The victim did not wait for EMTs - somebody drove him to the Boston Medical Center emergency room in an SUV, outside of which the SUV was promptly taped off as evidence.
