Man stabbed in the neck on Southampton Street in Newmarket Square; suspect arrested

Outside the Alltown gas station around 12:40 a.m. Injuries not considered life threatening.

Boston Police report they didn't have to go far to arrest a suspect:

After pulling into the parking lot, officers were able to locate and speak to the victim who promptly pointed out the suspect who was attempting to flee the scene in a motor vehicle. After activating their lights and sirens, officers were able to stop the suspect. While questioning the suspect about his role in the incident, officers observed what appeared to be blood evidence on the passenger side door of the suspect’s vehicle. After instructing the suspect to exit the vehicle, officers observed and confiscated a knife seen lying on the front seat of the vehicle.

Carree Burns, 43, of Haverhill, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police say.
