South End phone store robbed at gunpoint; one suspect arrested, one sought

Boston Police report two masked men the T-Mobile store, 1180 Washington St. at gunpoint Wednesday evening.

Police say the two entered the store wearing masks around 6:30 p.m., one of them displaying a gun. One of the two got about 20 phones and the two ran out of the store.

Officers conducted a search and soon located two suspects matching the given description walking along the Southwest Corridor near Holyoke Street. One of these two males, Alexis Mason, 20, of Dorchester, was placed in custody without incident after being positively identified. The second male party was interviewed on scene and released. Officers searched the surrounding area for the stolen property as well as any possible weapons to no avail.

Mason was charged with armed robbery, police say, adding they are continuing to look for the second suspect and the phones.
