Two young teens charged with smashing guy in head with replica gun in robbery near South Bay

Boston Police report arresting two teens, both about 14, after an attack and robbery at Boston and Howell streets in Dorchester around 11 p.m. on Tuesday.

The suspects approached the victim, hitting him in the face with a weapon in hand while rummaging through his pockets and fleeing the scene with his property.

Police say officers found the two not long after a few blocks away, coming out of the Edward Everett Square Dunkin' Donuts.

Officers stopped the first juvenile and performed a pat frisk immediately recovering what appeared to be a firearm from his jacket. Recovered from the second juvenile was a large sum of cash, a gift card and a cell phone, all belonging to the victim.

The two were charged as being delinquent for armed robbery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, police say.
