Police: Man beats woman to the floor in robbery at Boston Medical Center garage

Boston Police report a woman waiting at the pedestrian entrance to the 710 Albany St. garage to pay for her parking was knocked to the floor last night by a man who then stole her lunchbox.

Police say Tracy Johnson, 58, now faces charges of assault and battery on a person over 60 and unarmed robbery of a person over 60.

According to police, the woman entered the garage around 8 p.m.

The victim stated she was inside of the garage attempting to pay when she was approached by the suspect who began asking her for money. The victim stated she initially ignored him. The victim stated the suspect then reached into the victim’s purse in an attempt to grab the victim’s money. The victim stated she struggled with the suspect, but eventually she fell to the ground where the suspect pushed her head into the ground before taking the victim’s lunchbox and her other possessions including her car keys and glasses. The victim stated the suspect threw her possessions at her before fleeing with her lunchbox.

Police say Johnson was nabbed nearby by Boston University Police, who patrol the buildings and grounds of BU Medical Center and BMC. The victim was taken across the street to BMC for treatment of minor injuries, police say.

The city really needs to do something about all the feins back on Mass ave. It starts from South bay, all the way to BMC and all long the side streets by Mcdonalds and Sunoco gas station. It’s crazy the amount of feins back out there. The city really doesn’t know what to do but they have to do something
