Cops seize fireworks and guns in Mattapan

Seized fireworks in Mattapan

Boston Police report officers responding to reports about fireworks on Astoria Street in Mattapan yesterday evening found two cars with fireworks piled atop and in them.

Police say officers told the owner of one of the cars to say goodbye to his fireworks. But, police say, as they were removing fireworks from the second - and unattended - car, they found "a loaded .380 caliber Ruger Prescott handgun" atop one pile inside. That, police say, warranted a pat frisk of the other car's owner - and they quickly found "a fully loaded .380 caliber Ruger LCP handgun equipped with a laser sight and an extended magazine" from "the waistline area of his pants."

Officers arrested Wesley Pereira, 25, of Dorchester, on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm, police say, adding the bomb squad was called in to take the fireworks away.

Police add they are continuing to look for the owner of the unattended car.

Innocent, etc.

It takes a real special Type of idiot to sit around 2 guns popping illegal fireworks in the hood and not expect the police to show up and send you on vacation. Worlds dumbest criminals.
