Confrontation between two groups in Southwest Corridor Park near police headquarters ends with teen shot

State Police report a 15-year-old from Dorchester was shot in the Southwest Corridor Park in the area of Prentiss and Albert streets around 11:25 p.m. on Thursday.

She was taken to a local hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, State Police say.

Preliminary investigation suggests the girl was shot during an altercation between two groups. The investigation by State Police detectives is ongoing. No arrests have been made as of this time.

At one time the MBTA owned the property on the southwest corridor and leased the corridor to DCR for maintenance of the parkland. My question if the MBTA still owns the property are they responsible for making sure it is a safe and secure area?
