Police in Boston, Quincy, Norwood and Randolph, with help from State Police and US marshals raided several locations in raids that kicked off at 5:45 a.m. in search of guns and drugs as a followup to arrests and gun seizures in a Dorchester park last November.

In Boston, police raided numerous locations, including two in Roslindale, on Birch Street, near Albano Street, in Roslindale and the Stony Brook Commons apartment complex off Enneking Parkway.

Boston Police report the raids stem from an investigation that started on Nov. 16, when BPD gang-unit officers looking for one guy with a gun at Dr. Loesch Family Park - formerly Wainwright Park - found him among a group of about 30 men and arrested him and two others and seized a total of six guns.

Among those arrested today on warrants out of Suffolk Superior Court: Shavea Fyffe, 26, of Randolph, on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm. Fyffe is a former Roslindale resident with a record dating to at least 2014, when he was charged with pointing a gun at police during a chase in Dorchester.

Also arrested on warrants:

  • Maliek Palmer-Robinson, 21, of Norwood, on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm (second offense), unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm and possession of a large-capacity firearm;
  • Trevon Bell, 24, of Brighton, on three counts of unlawful possession of a firearm and two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition.
  • Patrick Bishop, 21, of West Roxbury, on two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm, two counts of unlawful possession of ammunition, possession of a large-capacity feeding device, possession of Class B drugs with intent to distributed and receiving stolen property;
  • Keenan Monroe, 26, Dorchester, on charges of charges of unlawful possession of a firearm (second offense), carrying a loaded firearm and unlawful possession of a ammunition. He was also charged as an armed career criminal, which could mean a longer sentence if he's convicted of the other charges;
  • Jaquori Lyons, 22, of Dorchester, on charges of unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm;
  • A 17-year-old was charged with being delinquent for [possession of a sawed-off shotgun or machine gun and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Innocent, etc.

We've got to demilitarize our cops.

Does their PROTECTIVE gear look scary?

I'll give you this, the last cop is carrying a long rifle, but i suspect what scares you is their helmets, vests and shields.

Maybe next year, social workers armed with pillows can conduct drug/gang raids.

Banning military weapons from civilian sale and removing them from all availability so the people cannot amass them.

Then there wouldn't need to be militarized hut huts invading neighborhoods.

Australia did it.
New Zealand did it.
Canada did it.

And don't even try the NRA whine game about "taking all the weapons" - none of these countries did.

Drive Canada 17 between Kenora and Thunder Bay sometime if you think all guns have been taken away.

Tired of this bullshit. No weapons of mass destruction, no stockpiles, no raids, no militarized storm troopers.

These officers donned personal protective equipment (helmets, ballistic vests, and ballistic shields) to execute court authorized search warrants at the break of dawn to remove unlawfully possessed firearms and dangerous criminals from the neighborhoods of Boston. The first thing you can reference is the militarization of police? How about a "thank you" or "stay safe". That is often lacking these days.

And watching people trip over each other to fellate the police is tiresome. They get six figure salaries, overtime detail, cadillac insurance and matched retirement plans as well as paid leave for shooting unarmed 14-year-olds. Thanks enough.

These officers get an average of 127,000 thank yous a year from us.

How do those boots taste?

Maybe if our system wasn’t designed to create a profitable black market for drugs (that’s often capitalized on by folks that can’t win in said system), we wouldn’t need city police officers dressed for war marching through our streets. Just saying.

If it wasn't so fucking easy to get a gun there'd be a lot less murders.

You're both right!

Officer at the front desk attacked with a pole, Dorchester officer dragged by suspect attempting to flee traffic stop. If people weren't quite so willing to harm/kill a cop all the time, maybe they wouldn't be quite so aggressive. Didn't BPD just arrest a guy for possession of a machine gun? Being heavily armed and armored and using extreme tactics seems sensible when you have good reason to believe the suspect is armed, given the firepower they may possess.

The pole guy had to be (unsuccessfully) trying suicide by cop; what else could he possibly have thought would happen?

The blue lips matter crowd seems awfully thin on masks, distancing, and staying away from crowds whining about masks and distancing.

What does that even mean? You post an informative, intelligent comment occasionally and then follow up with a series of negative pointless comments. Either be a serious commenter that tries to further the conversation or be a troll that leaves snarky comments and counts the likes from other trolls.

Social workers and therapists can be useful in dealing with the rise in crime. On the BART system in San Francisco they are utilizing crisis intervention specialists and unarmed police ambassadors to deal with quality of life issues.

Also has multiple iphone apps to pinpoint human excrement on the sidewalks so you can avoid it. San Fran is shooting a freight train with a pellet gun with measures like their social workers/therapists.

Are the unlawful possession charges serious enough that the DA might consider charging the 17-yr-old as an adult?

Each time I see a story about violent crime I wonder just how many cases are related to gangs. I suspect most shootings are gang-related since we don't hear warnings to the general public that a shooter is on the loose and to shelter in place. I would like to see BPD, the Globe and the news stations investigate and report on whether or not a violent crime incident is connected to gang activity. Does the BPD gang unit need more resources?

You're not very good at this.

You might want to consider finding a new career path before your associates choose one for you for being so sloppy.
