Man threatens four with a loaded gun near Ross Playground in Hyde Park, police say
Boston Police report arresting a Dorchester man on charges he used a loaded gun to menace four people on Reddy Avenue, just outside an entrance to Ross Playground, on Friday night.
Police say Treyvon Sands, 20, fled the area around 8:40 p.m. Officers responding to a 911 call found him nearby on Edwardston Street:
Sands proceeded to flee on foot while grabbing the front of his waistband. After a brief foot chase Sands was safely apprehended while attempting to jump over a back yard fence.
Police say officers recovered a loaded Smith & Wesson revolver.
Sands was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession by means of a dangerous weapon and carrying a rifled or shotgun on a public way, police say.
