Police arrest Mission Hill shooting suspect at Hailey Apartments, then nab four more people, two on gun charges

Boston Police report arresting a 17-year-old on Parker Street in the Mildred Hailey Apartments this afternoon for a Sunday-night shooting on Smith Street on Mission Hill.

Police say they found the teen hanging out around noon with eight or ten other people outside 950 Parker St.:

As the officers approached, they observed that one of the individuals, later identified as a 15-year-old male from Jamaica Plain, wearing sweatpants and a hooded sweatshirt with a ski mask pulled over his face, despite the warm temperature. Upon seeing the officers, the male became wide-eyed while quickly pinning his arms against his body. As an officer began to perform a pat frisk, he immediately felt the handle of a firearm in his waistband. The suspect was then secured and the officers were able to safely recover a loaded semi-automatic handgun.

While that was going on, police say, Andrea Daily, 32, of Jamaica Plain, "casually walked behind a nearby dumpster where she discarded a black and red ‘fanny pack.’ " Police arrested her because she had outstanding warrants for larceny, forgery and uttering, then added gun charges after they retrieved the fanny pack and found a loaded handgun in it.

A 16-year-old, also from Jamaica Plain, and a 14-year-old from Natick, were also arrested on outstanding warrants on a variety of breaking-and-entering charges, police say.

Innocent, etc.
