Police arrest man they say brandished a loaded gun at a Mattapan football game

Boston Police report arresting a man they say showed up at a children's football game at Almont Playground with both a loaded gun and a stun gun last night.

Police say officers responded to the park around 7:10 p.m after getting a call about a man with a gun.

Upon arrival, Officers observed the park filled with children and families enjoying a children's football game. Officers were directed to a male, later identified as Richie, who had brandished a silver firearm. As Officers approached the male, they observed him quickly reach towards the area of a parked motor vehicle. For Officer's safety, Richie was placed in handcuffs. A search of the area where Officers observed Richie motion yielded a silver Rossi .38 Special revolver loaded with four live .38 caliber rounds. Upon a further search of the suspect, Officer’s recovered a Vipertek Electric Stun gun.

Wilner Richie, 32, of Dorchester, was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded firearm, assault by means of a dangerous weapon, possession of an electric stun gun and making a threat to commit a crime, police say.
