Dorchester teen charged as dog killer

Boston Police report arresting an 18-year-old on charges he fatally shot a dog at 97 Brunswick St. around 11 a.m. on Sunday.

Officers were dispatched to the scene after the department ShotSpotter sent an alert about gunfire there. Police say they found at least one spent shell and learned that the dog's owner had taken the dog to an animal hospital - where it later died.

Gang unit officers arrested Antonio Moore, 18, at his home today on charges of malicious killing of a domestic animal, discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling, unlawful possession of a firearm and unlawful possession of ammunition, police say.
