Man was hanging out on a South Boston corner with a gun loaded with 19 bullets, police say

Boston Police report gang-unit officers arrested a man they say was standing at Logan and McDonough ways in the Mary Ellen McCormack development chatting with some other guys - while packing a gun loaded with 19 rounds in one of his pant legs Saturday evening.

Police say officers were patrolling the area in response to an earlier call about a man with a gun when they spotted a group of guys hanging out by an empty but running car around 7:30 p.m.

After approaching the group and further investigation, officers recovered a loaded firearm from Devonta Cardoso’s pant leg. The firearm was determined to be a loaded Glock 17 9mm with one round in the chamber and eighteen rounds in the extended magazine.

Officer also recovered two additional firearms that were determined to be BB guns. One was located inside of the motor vehicle and the other was located from a fanny pack that was discarded at the scene by an unknown suspect.

Cardoso was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and unlawful possession of a large-capacity feeding device, police say.

Innocent, etc.
