Three arrested at Marcella Park basketball tourney - one for having a loaded gun, two for interfering with his arrest - police say

Boston Police report arresting a Taunton man on charges he brought a loaded gun in a fanny pack strapped to his chest to a basketball tournament at Marcella Park in Roxbury yesterday evening.

As gang officers were placing Donte Daily, 32, under arrest for the gun loaded with seven rounds, police say, another man, Jaquori Lyons, 24, of Roslindale, came up to them and demanded they let Daily hand him some keys Lyons said he had:

Officers advised Lyons several times to step away, to which he refused, loudly yelling at officers and causing a crowd to be drawn away from the basketball tournament and toward the Officer's arrest. Lyons was again advised to leave; Lyons refused officers' commands and pushed an officer. Given Lyons’s behavior, officers determined that he would be placed into custody. Lyons then threw a punch at an officer that missed and then began running away from officers. Following a lengthy foot chase, Lyons was taken into custody following a brief struggle.

Then, as officers were putting Lyons into the back of a cruiser, Aryana Wilson, 22, of Roxbury, came up to them and tried to stop them, police say:

As Officers attempted to remove Wilson, she pushed and bit an officer. Following a brief struggle, Officers placed Wilson into custody without further incident.

Daily was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition and carrying a loaded firearm, police say. He was also charged as a Level 2 armed career criminal, which could mean a longer sentence if convicted of the other charges. Lyons and Wilson were charged with assault and battery on a police officer, disturbing the peace and resisting arrest, police say.

Innocent, etc.
