Two men, one with a taser in a fanny pack, charged with stealing car from Cummins Highway garage

Boston Police report arresting a Roslindale man and an alleged accomplice from Hyde Park after, police say, they smashed the front door of a Cummins Highway garage, stole the key for a specific car, then sped off after crashing through a chain link fence, early Thursday morning.

Police say Alvin Mojica, 29, from Roslindale and with a taser in a fanny pack strapped across his chest, and Johnathan Osorio, 27, of Hyde Park, smashed the front door of the garage at 601 Cummins Highway on the Hyde Park/Mattapan line sometime before 7:48 a.m., when an employee arrived and called 911, police say.

Polic say that around 10:45 a.m., officers on patrol spotted the car on River Street near Wachusett Street - less than a mile away, and ordered the driver to a halt.

The officers noted that the vehicle now had improper plates attached. Upon stopping the vehicle, the operator, later identified as Osorio, immediately became combative but was placed in custody after a brief struggle. Officers then removed the lone passenger, later identified as Mojica, who was compliant but was found to be in possession of a taser which was located in a ‘fanny pack’ he was wearing across his chest.

Both were charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle. Mojica was also charged with possession of a stun gun and unlawfully carrying a dangerous weapon. Osorio was also charged with resisting arrest, attaching plates and driving without a license, police say.

Innocent, etc.

A literal No-Name Garage which Google identified as Regis Auto Sales. I wonder why they don't have the name painted on the actual garage?
