After further investigation, officers approached Teixeira-Fermino and observed a plastic bag of a white rock-like substance protruding from his sweatshirt pocket. As officers were attempting to arrest Teixeira-Fermino, they recovered a loaded firearm from his right side.
The firearm was determined to be a 9mm Diamondback DB9 Generation 4, loaded with one round in the chamber and five rounds in the magazine. Officers also recovered 37 grams of crack cocaine and $277.00 in US Currency.
He was charged with unlawful possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of ammunition, carrying a loaded gun in public, trafficking of 36 to 99 grams of Class B drugs, distribution of Class A drugs and possession of a firearm while committing a felony, police say.
Teixeira-Fermino was convicted of rape in 2004 and again in 2005, according to the Massachusetts Sexual Offenders Registry Board.
