Police say they nab couple driving around Dorchester with a loaded gun

Boston Police report officers responding to a report of gunfire at Harvard Street and Gleason streets in Dorchester around 3 a.m. spotted a car with a broken taillight and pulled it over when they ran the plates and discovered they weren't assigned to that car.

They ordered the couple out of the car - after also determining the driver, Kevin Crutchfield Jr., 35, of Dorchester, had a suspended license - and after noticing his passenger, Cherrelle Rascoe, 37, of Dorchester, was sitting on a bag.

Officers pat frisked the bag, and determined the presence of a firearm. Officers immediately placed both suspects into handcuffs without incident. The firearm was later determined to be a Jennings Firearm Inc J-22 with five rounds in the magazine.

Rascoe was arrested and charged with possession of a firearm without a license and possession of ammunition without a license, police say. Crutchfield was charged with unlicensed operation, driving with attached motor-vehicle plates and driving an unregistered motor vehicle, police say.

Innocent, etc.

Why do the neighborhood gun guys always have something wrong with their cars and can't drive? Like, hayyyy come arrest me!! Here we are! Yet law is powerless when it comes to catching the flow of guns into the same neighborhood!
