The FBI yesterday arrested a Roslindale man they say paid for an expensive shopping trip to the Walgreens on Centre Street in West Roxbury earlier this month by first robbing the Rockland Trust branch down the street - a week after he tried and failed to rob a Bank of America branch in Allston. The Citizens Bank branch in the Hancock Village mall on VFW Parkway at Independence Drive was robbed around 11:20 a.m., by a man dressed in all black and wearing a black ski mask, about 5'8", who passed a demand note, got some money, then ran across VFW Parkway towards Manthorne Road.
Officers investigating the bank robbery wound up arresting another man they happened to find in the parking lot who was wanted on a warrant unrelated to the robbery.
Boston Police report officers responding to a robbery at the Bank of America branch at 6 Tremont St. yesterday afternoon found the doors locked. So they waited until Gary Trecartin, 55, walked out and promptly arrested him for the robbery. Read more.
