A federal judge today sentenced Herzzon "Casper" Sandoval to 20 years in prison for a RICO violation - his role in encouraging the murder of a 15-year-old on Trenton Street in East Boston and two attempted murders.

A federal judge today sentenced Chelsea MS-13 member Hector "Vida Loca" Enamorado to life in prison for murdering a member of a rival gang and nearly killing an innocent bystander.

A federal judge today sentenced Carlos "Chuchito" Melara, 21 and a Salvadoran national, to 35 years in prison for fatally and repeatedly stabbing a 15-year-old on Constitution Beach in East Boston in 2015 - along with three other gang members - the US Attorney's office reports.

US District Court Judge F. Dennis Saylor today sentenced German "Terible" Hernandez Escobar, 30 to 21 years in federal prison for his role in running one of the largest Boston-area MS-13 gangs, which included ordering the murder of a 16-year-old he thought was cooperating with authorities - only he wasn't.

A federal judge yesterday sentenced Oscar Noe "Psycho" Recinos Garcia, to 23 years in prison for his role in the 2015 death of a teenager he and other MS-13 members thought - wrongly - was cooperating with the feds. Read more.

A Somerville man who led one of the local MS-13 "cliques" was sentenced to 212 months in federal prison today for RICO violations that included trying to slice up a member of a rival gang in Chelsea and helping to dispose of evidence related to the knife/gun murder of another alleged member of a rival gang on Falcon Street in East Boston. A federal judge today sentenced Modesto "Snoopy" Ramirez to 97 months, or a little more than eight years, in federal prison for RICO violations related to his membership in a local MS-13 gang. Read more.

A Suffolk Superior Court judge yesterday sentenced Rogelio Alvarado, 23, for shooting two men on an inbound Blue Line train on Jan. 19, 2016, one of whom had nothing to do with his beef with a rival gang, the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. Read more.

A federal judge today sentenced Edwn "Demente" Diaz, 20, to 35 years in federal prison for being one of several MS-13 members who stabbed Cristofer Perez de la Cruz, 16, of Chelsea so brutally the tips of their knives broke off in his skull - as another gang member fired repeated rounds into him. A Suffolk Superior Court jury today convicted Rogelio Alvarado, 23, of two counts of assault and battery by discharging a firearm and two gun charges for a 2016 attack at the Maverick T stop that sent two men to the hospital - only one of them the rival gang member he was aiming for - the Suffolk County District Attorney's office reports. A federal judge today sentenced Jose Adan "Chucky" Martinez Castro to 19 1/2 years in federal prison for a racketeering charge related to his role in overseeing MS-13 gangs along the East Coast - including a December, 2015 gang conference at his Virginia house at which he ordered members to increase their attacks on the rival 18th Street Gang. A federal judge today sentenced Noe "Crazy" Salvador Perez Vasquez to life in prison for his roles in murders in Chelsea and Lowell and for cocaine and marijuana distribution, the US Attorney's office in Boston reports.

UPDATE: Both men sentenced.

The US Attorney's office reports Nery Rodriguez Diaz, 18, and Elmer Alfaro Hercules, 19, both Salvadoran nationals, were indicted this week on one count each of being aliens in possession of firearms and ammunition, following their arrests last month at the Bremen Street Park on gun charges. Jairo "Seco" Perez, today admitted he was one of several MS-13 members who repeatedly stabbed and sliced Cristofer Perez de la Cruz on Falcon Street in East Boston on Jan. 10, 2016 - along with other members who repeatedly shot the 16-year-old.

Jose "Little Crazy" Vasquez today pleaded guilty to a RICO charge for his role in trying to hide evidence of the murder of Cristofer Perez de la Cruz, 16, of Chelsea on Falcon Street in East Boston in January, 2016. He faces up to 18 years in prison at his Aug. 30 sentencing.
