A city health inspector yesterday ordered Bourbon Street Cafe, inside the Corner Mall in Downtown Crossing, shut after a sprinkler went off because of a small fire, contaminating pretty much everything with non-potable water and leaving "grease and water soils on floors." Read more.

Blue Bikes at Downtown Crossing T stop

Slydon wonders how these Bluebikes got down to the tunnel that connects the southbound Red Line with the southbound Orange Line at Downtown Crossing late this afternoon. Bluebikes replied it would dispatch somebody to get them out of there.

The T stopped Orange Line service for a bit so that officials could investigate smoke coming from the tracks at Downtown Crossing and then turn on fans to make it go away.

Boston Police report arresting Joseph Porter, 47, on a charge of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon for allegedly stabbing another man outside 69 Bromfield St. around 1:40 a.m. on Sunday.

Police say his victim remains hospitalized but is expected to survive.

Innocent, etc.

UPDATE: Suspect arrested.

KMV and Doogs report somebody was stabbed several times on Bromfield Street, near Tremont, shortly before 1:40 a.m. The homicide unit was called in due to the severity of the victim's injuries.

A Revere man who spent part of an Orange Line ride staring at a girl under 14 ground himself into her as she and her mother got off the train at Downtown Crossing around 10:50 a.m. yesterday, Transit Police report.

Boston Police report a man with a cast on one leg and holding a cane was punched to the ground and then repeatedly kicked by four men who made off with his purple cell phone, at Temple Place and Washington Street, around 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Read more.

An Oak Grove train with a motor problem at Downtown Crossing is gumming up the works on the Orange Line, the MBTA reports. One rider reports the northbound platform was evacuated due to smoke.

Police found a man on Tremont Street at Park Street with fresh slice wounds to the hand he said were inflected by another man armed with a machete, around 9:35 p.m., possibly on Temple Place.

Firefighters responded to the eighth and seventh floors of 1 Summer Street in Downtown Crossing late this afternoon where rooms containing uninterruptible power supplies and large batteries at Markley Group's data center began filling with arc'ing and smoke and then water when the sprinklers went off. Around 7 a.m., tracks on the Orange Line burst into flames at Downtown Crossing, creating delays of up to 30 minutes as power was shut to let Boston firefighters do what they do best.

Shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Washington Street near Temple Place. The victim managed to walk up Temple Street, about a third of the way towards Tremont, before falling to the sidewalk, where police found him.
