Somerville's round house

When not photographing the front-yard Madonnas of Somerville, Josh is wondering about this seemingly abandoned round house at 36 Atherton St. Anybody know anything about it?
Update: The Somerville Arts Council says:
Arguably Somerville's coolest house! Inventor and locksmith Enoch Robinson built this 40-ft diameter round wooden house in 1856 at 36 Atherton Street. It has a domed central hall surrounded by circular and oval rooms. Unfortunately, this is a private home and is not open to the public.
Naturally, somebody has compiled a list of all the round and octagonal structures in Massachusetts.

somerville round house
Apparently the owners are a little uh... eccentric. They've turned down grants to have their house fixed up. So the city and residents have to watch it fall into disrepair. It's too bad. It's such a gem. Some day somebody will buy it and fix it up.
The guy buit it because his wife ws ill and at the time it was thought the round walls would be soothing to her. There's more to it, but that's all I can remember.
Sad situation
A friend of mine is executive director of the Somerville Historic Preservation Commission. The city has been trying for years to get the owner of this house to cooperate with them and fix it up. Unfortunately, without success so far.
This list isn't complete!
This list isn't complete! It's missing my friend Rachel's octagonal house off Rt 80 in Kingston! The house is very cool, by the way.
Yeah!
The octagonal house is fun. Did you send the website to Rachel so she can provide her info?
