They still have to iron that out.

Are folks ever going to learn to lock up their valuable copper? You wouldn't leave your tools unattended and unguarded at a job site, why would you leave copper lying out?

These guys were probably working on the site and knew where the wire was kept. They appear to have had access to a site that was otherwise locked.

Otherwise, leaving copper out is crazy. We cut three 8' lengths of it out of a wall when we renovated the kitchen and put it outside with the trash around 1 am. It was gone by 7 am, even though we live on a very tiny dead end street! That's an amazingly high vapor pressure for a metal.

After a fair trial... crush them under spools of #8 wire.

The officer's (aka "The Man") attention was drawn to the workers when they were observed drawing pictures of sunshine and flowers on the sidewalk.

The thieves knew they were busted when the cop exclaimed, "I CU!!"
