In the spring issue of CommonWealth magazine, Dan Kennedy profiles Universal Hub and its editor Adam Gaffin, "the most influential editor you’ve never heard of."
What emerges from all this is something approaching a community-wide conversation. It's like talk radio, only better, richer, more diverse, with people able to talk not just with the host but with each other through the comments they post.
Read the whole article here, or a short summary at Dan's Media Nation blog.

One of the things I liked about the article (which I believe now gets me up to 14:59 on my 15-minute clock) was how Dan also discussed the challenges faced by print media and blogger types in this new world (Obligatory disclaimer: Dan's part of the Boston Blogs Network, which I run).

Excellent article by Dan, and a well-deserved profile of Adam's hard work. When friends move to the Boston area, this is the site I tell them to check first.

Did Commonwealth just give UHub more readers, or vice versa?

And they say the blogosphere is incestuous. What do they know?
I noticed Kennedy didn't remark on the quality of the commentary here at UniversalHub. I guess that's our dirty little secret.
But seriously, congratulations on the good publicity.

Terrific exposure in a high quality magazine, Adam. Thanks for giving all of us a virtual dining room table to sit around.

True enough. I guess I was thinking of good talk radio when I wrote that. Not much of that anymore.

"From these pieces a picture of the city begins to emerge. And it’s a very different picture from the suburban-mom/urban-slickster duopoly you often find in the Globe, or the seamy underbelly portrayed by the Herald."
Very true -- this is what I like most about Universal Hub. Congrats, Adam.

And you do that in your spare time... You are something else, dear Adam. It's just so wicked good that you happen to be a Bostonian something else. :)
Congratulations!
