There's a lot the CHB doesn't know about Cleveland

The Outraged Liberal, a Cleveland native, couldn't get past the fifth paragraph in Shaughnessy's column today because it's so riddled with factual errors about his birthplace.

As long as the Globe continues subjecting us to CHB's musings, they're fair game.

This was one of his laziest columns in a while. It looks like he started his standard "We have clam chowder, they have [insert popular local food]" column that he does for almost every playoff series, but didn't know enough about Cleveland to finish.

When the weather was a bit windy and bizarre one day in Cleveland, he referred to the ballpark as being built on the ocean.

Of the uninformed elitism that riddles the East Coast. Picking on the Midwest appears to be a regional pastime up here, and doing it with complete ignorance to any real facts is even more popular. If everyone up here is so educated, well-traveled, and enlightened, then why don't they get on a plane to Cleveland or St. Louis and learn a little about that part of the country? They call the Midwest ignorant, but they're the ignorant ones.

And does not represent us. Personally, I love the Midwest. Some of my best friends are from the Midwest. I've even been to a Midwestern county fair (Dodge County, Nebraska - how much more Midwest can you get?).

Lansing MI, St Louis MO, Milwaukee WI, Chicago IL, Evanston IL, Farm Country, MN etc etc. but I'm not likely to pickup a book on the subject just becuase Shaughnessy is a dick.

Enough about Shaughnessy plz.

I think he deserves praise, not blame, for continuing to call Jacobs Field by its proper name.
