Those bike racks on buses aren't much good if the drivers won't let people with bikes use them

Today's only-in-T-land adventure comes from En Ki, who reports that when he got to Lechmere with his bike last night, the driver of the 80 bus closed the door and drove on without him rather than wait for him to put his bike on the rack. So he got on his bike, beat the bus to the next stop and the driver blew right past him. He then tried to catch up, found the bus coming back the other way, got to a bus stop - and the driver once again drove right by him.
... Next time I find myself in this situation, of course, I will ask myself "What Would Dan Grabauskas Do?"

He should probably have hurled a projectile at the bus.
That might have stopped it...soft power just doesn't work much these days.
"What Would Dan Grabauskas Do?"
Give the T bus driver a raise!
I don't know...
...I feel like he'd be more likely to just eliminate bus stops altogether, and raise fares for customers to merely wait as the buses plow by them and help road congestion.
Why am I such a cynic?

Get back in his SUV and drive away ...
"What Would Dan Grabauskas Do?"
Or just spend one of his Monday Metro Q&A columns offering some hollow assurance that our patronage is very important to him, and that he will hire a special fact-finding task force to investigate the matter. Then retreat to his lair, chuckling with his cohorts, saying to them: "I can't believe those idiots bought that!"
I've never had problems
Then again, my usual (time saving!) procedure is:
1. Proceed to the front of the bus with the bike
2. Wave "Hi" to the driver
3. Load bike while others board
4. Happily greet driver while using pass
I don't use the racks that much, but I was the first to use one in MA that anybody knows of, so I can get the bike up and down in no time flat.

Drive instead?
Im not suprised. Some bus
Im not suprised. Some bus drivers are nasty and some are just jerks, and some are nice people. Those bike racks are supposed to be there to help people do mutli commutes. Im friends with some people who lobbied to get bike racks on certain bus routes and they would be horrified to hear this story, especially since some of those bike racks are underused.

You can always "Write to the Top"!
Get that big black number on the Bus, to better identify.
