In just the right light ...

Against the philistinism of a bunch of tourists, there comes a City Hall defender.
A lot the tourists know. Without City Hall, there'd be none of the "more aesthetically pleasing ameneties" nearby, like Faneuil Hall.

What I'd rather
I'd rather be screwed by what used to be in Scollay Square than what's there now.
Hehe.
Other Strange Buildings
Kinda related -- if you think that City Hall is strange and out of place, here's a cool list of 50 strange buildings of the world.
My favorite on this list is #6 - the KC Public Library. What a great idea - construct a building that contains books, out of books!
It was good to read those
It was good to read those first few comments. The fellow-travellers who defended that monstrosity are finally on the run. Imagine a city hall that respected the heritage of the city, instead of proudly smashing it for effect. Unlike a painting, you can't just take it off the wall and put it in the attic.
Give it to MOBA?
Too bad city hall doesn't fit in the basement of the Dedham or Somerville Theaters.
