No rugrats in coffeehouses

Be wades into the debate over children in "adult" places such as coffeehouses:

... Come on, let's be reasonable: I don't go on benders at Chuck-E-Cheese, so what makes you think that you can turn the 1369 into Romper Room? ...

Some Chuck-e-Cheese's have a beer and wine license, so technically, you could go on a bender there. Not that you should, mind you.

Must be for the parents to dull the pain of being inside a giant sadistic noise chamber for several hours (and yes, I have too been inside the rat's lair).

The Chuck E Cheese near my childhood home had a dimly-lit alcove near the arcade that doubled as the "lounge." It was always smoky, always had The Game (doesn't matter which sport) playing on one lousy tv, and was always filled with bitter parents trying to get in as many shots as possible, and hiding from the kids (who were unattended, yet busy trying to rig the Skee-Ball game or crap their pants in the ballpit.)
