Short-fused Massholes would do well to avoid Dot Ave. near Freeport Street today

Boston Police are apparently getting tired of dealing with angry motorists acting out in traffic delays caused by construction along Dorchester Avenue (including one who is charged with sending a couple of cops to the hospital), so they've issued an advisory that construction will continue today at Dot. Ave. and Freeport. They add:

The work being done is expected to cause and create a certain level of delay and inconvenience.

That intersection is right near my office, where we come in and out of all day as part of our work. There are about four intersections right around the building where there's construction. There are different cops each day, and they have different ideas about how to manage traffic. Some of the cops have been really incompetent, and others have been total asses. Many cops have been nice and helpful.

Most of the motorists I've seen giving the cops a hard time have been in cases where the cop is being ambiguous in directing traffic, then when motorists don't understand wtf the cop wants them to do, the cop acts like an ass to the motorists. Granted it doesn't solve anything to act like an ass back, and threatening and assaulting the cops is clearly over the line, but it seems that the assholery on the part of the motorists is usually provoked.
