He's a somebody, thanks to his new family-sized recycling bin

Steve Garfield proudly shows off his new wheeled Boston recycling bin, which, as has been noted here in the past (over and over and over again) is large enough to put Julio Lugo in.

I heard the city was rolling these out; do you have to call to get one or are they just dropping them off one neighborhood at a time? When do they come to South Boston? I can't believe I have recycle bin envy.

I, too, would love one - the pilot boundary was a couple blocks away from us, so we've been seeing them every Thursday (the trash day there) for awhile now.

I, too, can't wait for my new bin, and was disappointed that we haven't gotten one yet, although the announcement from the city said that single-stream recycling began July 1. Then I looked at the email that I got again - oops. It says that new bins will be delivered over the next 12 months. So some time in the next year we should all have our recycle bin envy assuaged...

I covered this over on BostonZest.

"The City will be delivering large wheeled recycling carts to residences with one to six units. Carts will be delivered neighborhood by neighborhood between June 2009 and June 2010."

Why would anyone WANT to recycle Julio Lugo? Can't we just ship him somewhere?

So write your address on it before it disappears. :-)
