Western Conifer Seed Bug (which, in spite of the name, has apparently had massive expansion of range in the past 30 years and is now Eastern as well as Western.)

As long as it stays under an inch - looks more like an African shield than a bug that needs squashing.

Thanks!

We have been getting a bunch of Asian longhorned beetle reports the past few weeks that have all turned out to be this WCSB. As it warms up outside again this week, expect another little burst of these bugs on the outside (and inside) of your house.

started appearing in/around my condo in Stoneham about 5 or 6 years ago. At the time I was terrified of them because they're fairly large and I had no idea what they were capable of, but after some research I found out they're mostly harmless.

It's a stinky bug (squash-ish-goo-insectish) and they invade every fall. They are easy to hit with the bottom of a shoe (I prefer a slipper), but they stink.

Stink bugs! We have them here in Philadelphia but they are more grey in color.

That's what fell off my living room ceiling last Wednesday. I guess I shouldn't be shocked, since my living room is right behind a huge pine tree.
