Everett man charged as serial T groper

HernandezHugo Hernandez, 22, is scheduled for arraignment in Boston Municipal Court today on multiple charges of indecent assault and battery on the T, according to the Suffolk County District Attorney's office.

Hernandez was originally arrested late Wednesday at Sullivan Square for an Orange Line incident on Oct. 19, but by the end of yesterday, Transit Police pegged him for three more incidents, the DA's office says.

One of those incidents occurred on April 28, around 5:20 p.m. on an outbound Orange Line train between North Station and Wellington, according to this MBTA Transit Police account (whch features a cell-phone photo taken by his alleged victim):

The victim boarded a crowded express train at North Station. While standing, she was inappropriately touched on the leg by the suspect on three separate occasions. After the final occurrence, the victim confronted the suspect, who claimed that the assault was accidental.

Prosecutors charge she was the second woman he went after that evening on the Orange Line. Two other women reported similar assaults, one on the evening of Sept. 10 on the Red Line and one on the evening of Oct. 19 on the Orange Line, the DA's office says.

Innocent, etc.
