The Hub is their Oyster
By adamg on Wed, 03/01/2006 - 10:00am
The Oyster looks to be an online magazine all about Boston (guys: an "about us" page would be good About the Oyster). Seems to have launched today - with a bunch of profiles and stories. Gotta love a site that has a section called Hub Schlubs.
Via Steve Garfield, who was misquoted in one of their stories by a reporter who didn't seem to realize at first that if you make a mistake online, you can fix it.

About Page on the Oyster
They do actually have an 'About' page:
http://www.theoysteronline.com/about.html
It's in the left sidebar.
And not just in the left sidebar
But right at the top. HOW do I miss these things? Grr.
Yeah, I think it's a good site
Very plain layout, which I like, because it means it's all about the content, not cutesy little logos and design.
So, what, their website is just a way for them to write articles, in the hopes an old media company will see their stories and offer them jobs?
That's fine by me.
I like their story on living in the suburbs versus Boston & Cambridge. Seemed well written.
It's all about the content, and if they're not updating at least once every two weeks with articles, I don't think it'll succeed.
