BPDNews.com victim of Web-host server switch

Phew, the Boston Police were not doing anything nefarious. Instead, the company hosting BPDNews.com switched servers without telling Boston's Cyberfinest. This explains why some people can see posts from yesterday while others (including me, sniff) still can't see anything past Sunday: It takes time for the change in the server's IP number to get to all the DNS servers (essentialy, the global Internet directory) around the world and so some people are still getting connected to the old address (like me, as of five minutes ago).

Hmm, now that the city of Boston has a spiffy new Web presence, might it make sense to bring BPDNews in house? Failing that, I can recommend a Web host that doesn't just change servers and IP addresses on customers like that.
