Police: Burglar prowling Mattapan, Roslindale
Boston Police report three residential break-ins Wednesday and Thursday along the Mattapan/Hyde Park line and in Roslindale:
Around 1:40 p.m., Wednesday, police responded to a burglar alarm at 16 Radcliffe Rd. in Mattapan and found a rear door that appeared to have been pushed or kicked in. The alarm may have scared the burglar off - the homeowner found nothing missing.
About 40 minutes later, police responded to a 911 call from 35 Rosemont St. a couple blocks away, where a homeowner said she found her rear door open, the lock damaged and several pieces of jewelry missing.
Around 1 a.m., Thursday, police responded to 817 Canterbury St. in Roslindale and found the door to a first-floor apartment open. "In short time, the tenant arrived home and reported that a flat screen TV and Playstation were missing from the residence."
Police have no description of the thief yet.
