although it's the BPD/MBTA/City Hall that should be apologizing for this horseshit, still a classy move by the Cartoon Network.

classy move? hardly. word is that they knew about the police involvement hours before admitting it was a publicity stunt.

This is the appropriate response for the Cartoon Network. By all acounts, they notified the city pretty fast (about as soon as some of us online were realizing their involvement). Their public apology came later, but that's fine by me. They'll want time to draft a statement. They didn't wait significantly long to notify the authorities, though. What bothers me is how long the authorities allowed the "panic-mode" to continue after being told what this was all about. Even at the official press conference, they insisted on characterizing this as a "hoax" which is functionally misleading. I get that they were upset so I can let that go, but from all I've seen, the folks at Time-Warner acted appropriately and I appreciate their response.

National news broke at around noon, they appologized to menino via a one paragraph email at 5:30.

A real "classy" move would be to completely cover the artists' leagal costs and give them real jobs.
